International Scientific Conference (NON)CLASSICAL MUSIC IN CONTEMPORARY ART

April 26-27, 2018

International Scientific Conference

(NON)CLASSICAL MUSIC IN CONTEMPORARY ART

Modern art often reaches the verge: between classics and new creative species, ethnic and supra-national, real and virtual. Music is no longer just a detail of a large-scale intent, not only becomes a part of the creative conception in cinema, visual arts, theater is but it acts as one of the equal artistic contexts. In turn, composers and performers go beyond pure musical genres, using the possibilities of visual impact, including light, color and visuals in musical scores. The interaction of arts, traditions, genres poses a number of research problems that underlie the directions of our conference:

• Classical music in nonclassical context

• Methods of scientific analysis of classics and non-classics

• The phenomenon of crossover

• Theatricality in music, the musicality of the film, sound and painting, and other issues of the arts interaction

• Non-classical approaches to ethnic and international classics in creativity and science

• School and tradition in contemporary art.

These questions set the direction of reflection but do not limit it. Sessions and concerts of contemporary art will be held within the framework of the conference. Conference languages: Kazakh, English and Russian. Participation in with a report or with a presentation of artwork in the concert is possible.
