6. SCIENTIFIC INTEREST (RESEARCH AREA): |
|
The profile of scientific activity is connected with the history and theory of studying one of the areas of instrumental culture of the Kazakh people - traditional kobyz music in the past and present, the study of an ancient instrument as an organological object, and its kuyevs – from the point of view of the evolution of the musical language. The study of the existence of the kobyz tradition in the twentieth century, naturally reflecting modern trends in culture, closely related to political and social changes, reveals the preservation of its semantics, continuing the age-old traditions. Having experienced persecution and violent Europeanization, this distinctive area of folklore is being revived with renewed vigor in the conditions of independence. |
