Creative Sparks is a British Council's five-year program to develop international partnerships between universities and educational institutions in the UK and countries involved in the development of creative entrepreneurship skills for the development of the creative economy. The project involves: the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), the South Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia) and Ukraine.
At this stage, the survey “Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the music industry” was developed. The study is being conducted in collaboration with Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK, and the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, Kazakhstan, as part of the Creative Spark Higher Education Enterprise Program research project supported by the British Council.
The aim of this study is to examine the social and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the music industry in Kazakhstan. The target audience of the project is musicians, artists, freelancers, composers, singers and others related to this industry. By collecting this data, we will be able to expand knowledge about the possible impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as track policy impacts for the country as a whole, if possible.
