Competition for Participation in the Academic Mobility Program for First and Second Year Students

The International Programs and Cooperation Department of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, based on the Regulations on the Organization and Implementation of Academic Mobility of students, teachers and administrative staff of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, announces a competition among first- and second-year students to participate in the academic mobility program at the expense of the republican budget. The training will take place during the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year at partner universities - the L. V. Sobinov Saratov State Conservatory (Saratov, Russia), the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) and the Academy of Music of Hong Kong Baptist University (Hong Kong, China). The Conservatory pays for the student's flight, 120 days of accommodation and medical insurance. At the same time, the scholarship is saved if the student has successfully completed the session.

THE COMPETITION CONSISTS OF TWO STAGES:

Stage I. Compliance with the requirements of personal file documents.

1) An application addressed to the Rector — justification for studying abroad;

2) Application form of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan going to study abroad;

3) Motivation letter (in free form) with the student's signature and date;

4) Letters of recommendation from the head of the department and the Dean of the directing faculty;

5) A copy of your passport;

6) A copy of the transcript;

7) Certificates, awards, letters of appreciation from the most significant achievements of the student during his studies at the Conservatory;

All documents must be duplicated as scanned copies in the cloud storage and submitted to the International Programs and Cooperation Department o.

Stage II. Interview and meeting of the Competition Committee.

To participate in the competition, the staff of the International Programs and Cooperation Department form a list of participants whose documents meet the requirements of the first stage.

Candidates are invited to a meeting of the Competition Committee for an interview.

The Commission evaluates applicants according to the following criteria:

· Students must be first and second year undergraduate students;

· Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan (According to paragraphs 7, 9-1, Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 19, 2008 No. 613 On Approval of the Rules of Referral for Study Abroad, including within the framework of academic mobility and is provided for students under the state educational order);

· Academic performance for the entire period of study (the current transcript must be provided by students through the department and the registrar's office department);

· Completion of the previous session with grades "A", "A-", "B+", "B", "B-;

· Students should not have academic debt;

· Persuasiveness of a motivation letter with a brief explanation of the motives for wanting to study abroad in Russian/Kazakh;

· The presence of diplomas of the winner of national or international competitions and other certificates in the specialty (+ 1 point for each achievement);

· Students should be active participants in the Conservatory's social life.

Students who do not study on a grant can travel at their own expense, if they pass the competition.

The first stage of the competition will be held from March 31 to April 18, 2025.

The second stage of the competition will be held on April 24 at 15:00 in the conference hall (room 103).
