Maya Plisetskaya will again win the hearts of Kazakhstanis
On March 2, 2023, Almaty will host an open lecture by Damir Urazymbetov dedicated to the great ballerina Maya Plisetskaya and her collaboration with famous French choreographers, writers and fashion designers. The lecture is part of the project “Oner tarbiesi” – a cycle of open meetings-conversations about the history of choreographic art, where the world of ballet appears before the audience in a new light.
The listener and viewer of a lecture for a wide audience is an educated person, but often not an expert in this field. For such events, the lecturer rises to that degree of simplicity and freedom, which allows him to generalize knowledge and material. Therefore, any complex information is presented simply and easily.
At the open lecture “Maya Plisetskaya and the Great French”, the organizers will continue the conversation they started earlier with the audience, who is interested in learning new things and always being in trend. Once Plisetskaya came to Kazakhstan. And now we will again touch on her great creativity and acting.
Lecturer Damir Urazymbetov – theatrical director, choreographer, PhD in Arts, Editor-In-Chief of Qazaq Ballet Magazine, Associate Professor of the Art Management Department at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, Chief Director of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Member of the Council for Culture at the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation.
This time, the audience who came to the Almaty cultural event will hear a story about Maya Plisetskaya's favorite perfume, a story about her communication with French writers and Coco Chanel, and also see ballerina outfits from couturier Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Cardin. And most importantly, the viewer will learn the story of the birth of performances by French choreographers staged especially for Maya! The lecture will include a display of rare photographs, videos and materials from the director's personal archive, combined in a colorful and effective presentation.
The event was initiated by Qazaq Ballet creative laboratory and will be held with the support of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation and the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs.
