Students of the Kazakh Conservatory Will Study in Slovakia under the Academic Mobility Program

On March 16, 2025, second-year students of the Department of Choral Conducting at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, Aiym Iskakova and Riza Zhumagaliyeva, arrived at the Vysoká škola múzických umení v Bratislave (Slovakia), to participate in an academic mobility program.
The Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava is the largest creative educational institution in Slovakia, founded in 1949. The academy educates over 1,000 students in bachelor's and master's programs in music, theatre, and dance.
The period of study for students of the Kazakh Conservatory in Bratislava will last from March 17 to June 25, 2025. On March 20, the students took part in a masterclass held by Professor Elżbieta Wtorkowska, Rector of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The workshop focused on Polish choral music and the works of two Polish composers, Marek Raczyński and Grzegorz Miskiewicz. In addition to this, Aiym and Riza are planning to attend the Bratislava Spring Music Festival, which will be held from March 20 to 23. An important event for the students will be their participation in a concert in April at the Academy. As part of this concert, they will perform "Misa a Buenos Aires Misatango" by composer Martín Palmeri, written for mezzo-soprano, mixed choir, bandoneon, piano, and string orchestra.
We are proud of our students and confident that this trip will not only contribute to their professional growth but also enrich their cultural experience. We wish them continued success in their musical journey! The Conservatory expresses its gratitude to the Vice Dean for Research and International Relations, Peter Martinček, for his significant contribution to organizing this project.
