Workshops by Peter Martinček and Marián Zavarský

On April 9 and 10, 2025, workshops will be held in the conference hall by visiting scholars from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (Slovakia), a partner university, as part of the Erasmus+ program.
On April 9, musicologist, PhD, Associate Professor of the Music Theory, and Deputy Department, Vice-Dean for Research and International Relations at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Peter Martinček, will give a lecture on "Thematic Catalogs as Research Tools: Exploring Their Impact on Musicology." Peter Martinček graduated from the Bratislava Conservatory in double bass and conducting, later studying musicology at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava (2006–2011). In 2016, he earned his PhD, defending a dissertation on Matthäus Apelles von Löwenstern (1594–1648) and His Works in the Musical Collections of Levoča and Bardejov.
On April 10, composer, Doctor of Arts, and Associate Professor of the Composition Department at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Marián Zavarský, will conduct a workshop on "From Silence to Art – Approaches in Electroacoustics, Sound Design and Multimedia." After studying composition at the Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Marián Zavarský pursued further education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, as well as in various composition and music courses across Europe.
