MEXT

What is MEXT?

The MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship Program is designed for foreign students who wish to pursue higher education in Japan. It provides financial support for the entire duration of study in Japan, including Japanese language courses. MEXT scholarships are available for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs, as well as for conducting research activities.

To be eligible for the MEXT scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

1.      Be a foreign student.

2.      Be enrolled in a Japanese language course or a study program in Japan.

3.      Have excellent academic achievements.

4.      Be physically and mentally healthy.

5.      Have no issues with visa or residence in Japan.

Applicants wishing to become MEXT scholarship recipients must submit their documents to the Japanese embassy or consulate in their country. Candidates will undergo two exams - one for language proficiency and another for their chosen subject area.
