6B02115 – INSTRUMENTAL PERFORMANCE (PIANO)


  The previous levels of education of applicants for admission to the educational program «6B02115 – Instrumental performance (piano)», regardless of the specialty received, may be:
1. music college, specialized music school;
2. higher educational institutions (obtaining a second higher education - on a fee basis).

 
I. CREATIVE EXAM IN THE SPECIALTY

Program execution:
1. One polyphonic work (Preludes and Fugues by J.S. Bach, D. Shostakovich, R. Shchedrin);
2. One piece of large form: one part of the sonata (sonata allegro), variations (J. Haydn, W. Mozart, L.V. Beethoven, F. Schubert);
3. One concert sketch;
4. Another concert etude or a piece of virtuoso character.

ІІ. CREATIVE EXAM
IN MUSICAL AND THEORETICAL DISCIPLINES

  Harmony – orally by tickets (playing modulation in the key of the first degree of kinship, sequence up or down diatonic or chromatic, including passing chromatic sounds; harmonic analysis of the initial period of the work);
Solfeggio – written: 2-voice dictation in the form of a period with chromaticisms, alterations, deviations or modulation in the key of the first degree of kinship.

Criteria for evaluating

I – creative exam

  Score 33-45 points:
The applicant must demonstrate artistry, fluency in the instrument, competent reading of the author's text, expressiveness of sound production, awareness of the content of the work, a broad outlook on music education.
Score 19-32 points:
The applicant must demonstrate artistic skills, sufficient mastery of the instrument, a meaningful reading of the author's text, awareness of the content of the work, a general outlook on music education.
Score 5-18 points:
The applicant has no elements of artistry, demonstrates poor command of the instrument. The program does not meet the requirements for admission. Limited knowledge in matters of music education.
Score 0-4 points:
The applicant has no elementary manifestations of artistry, low command of the instrument. The program does not fully meet the requirements for admission. Lack of knowledge in matters of music education.

II – creative exam


33-45 points
Absolutely correct dictation recording; in-depth knowledge of the topics of the theoretical course of harmony; precise definition of functions in harmonic analysis; fluency in the skill of playing modulation and sequences.
19-32 points
The presence of insignificant pitch and rhythmic errors in dictation; good knowledge of the topics of the theoretical course of harmony; good command of the skill of playing modulation and sequences.
5-18 points
Significant mistakes in writing dictation; average knowledge of the topics of the theoretical course of harmony; inaccurate definition of functions in harmonic analysis; insufficient skills and abilities of playing modulations and constructing sequences.
0-4 points
Lack of dictation writing skills, playing modulations and sequences; low level of knowledge of the topics of the theoretical course of harmony.
