Meeting with Prof. Stanisław Krawczyński

On February 19, 2024, within the walls of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, an honorary guest from The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music (Krakow, Poland) was welcomed. Renowned conductor, Dr. Habil. Professor of the Choral Music Studies Department, Stanisław Krawczyński, arrived in Kazakhstan for the first time under the Erasmus+ program.

The meeting was attended by the leadership and administration of the Conservatory, represented by the Rector, the Holder of the Honorary title “Honored Worker of Kazakhstan” Nurken Ashirov, Head of the Rector's Office Yermek Skakov, the Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational and Methodological Work Gulnar Abdirakhman, the Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work Mukhambet Yeshmukhanov, deans of all faculties, and representatives of the international department.

The attendee at the meeting, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR, Professor, and Head of the Conducting Department, Bazargali Zhamanbayev, shared his impressions of Krzysztof Penderecki's music, his experiences in Poland, and insights into musical education in Kazakhstan. In his response, Professor Stanisław Krawczyński spoke about education in Poland, his own artistic journey, and the development of The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music, established in 1888.

After the official negotiations, the guest was taken on a tour of the library halls, where the Professor acquainted himself with rare editions held in the Conservatory, as well as books on traditional musical arts and inclusive education. In addition to the library, S. Krawczyński was shown the educational building and concert halls of the Conservatory, where classes and rehearsals were taking place.
