Meeting with representatives of the Almaty Tourism Bureau



On February 27, 2024, a working meeting took place at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory with the administration of the Conservatory and representatives from the Almaty Tourism Bureau under the auspices of the Almaty City Administration. The delegation from the Almaty Tourism Bureau included Ainur Turezhanova, the head of the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Tourism Department, and Leyla Ashimova, the chief manager of the international MICE Tourism Department. The meeting was conducted by Galiya Begembetova, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Creative Activities and International Cooperation, Damir Urazymbetov, the Head of the International Department, and Sergazy Yergazy, the Senior Manager of the International Department.

The agenda of the meeting centered around the participation of the Conservatory as the sole associate member of the European Association of Conservatoires at the upcoming annual congress. Perspectives on the development of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism in the city of Almaty were also discussed as a vital tool for attracting foreign guests and specialists in the field of music and education. During the meeting, representatives from the Conservatory emphasized that such an event would not only contribute to strengthening international ties but also significantly enhance the quality of education and research at the university. It would also foster greater interest in classical music among young people. In addition to the main agenda, the parties also explored other potential areas of collaboration.
