Round table «Development of the music industry after the COVID-19 pandemic: the experience of the UK and Kazakhstan» will be held

On June 30, 2022 at 14:00 (Nur-Sultan time), the Round Table “Development of the music industry after the COVID-19 pandemic: the UK and Kazakhstan experience” organized as part of the Creative Spark Higher Education Program in Kazakhstan, was held.

Center for Eurasian Studies, Henley Business School, University of Reading (Great Britain), Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) and Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory (Kazakhstan) organize a round table with the support of the Creative Spark program from the British Council.

The main goal of the round table is to find effective ways to implement the results of the study on the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on the creative industries in order to support representatives of the music industry in Kazakhstan.

The speakers included PhD doctors and doctoral students from leading universities in Kazakhstan and the UK as well as professionals in the field of performing arts and art management from Kazakhstan and the UK: Elena Kalyuzhnova, Professor, the University of Reading; Olena Khlystova, PhD student at the University of Reading; Keshubayeva Dinara, Master of Arts, Kurmangazy KNC; Imae Asel, doctoral student, PhD, Kurmangazy KNC; Kaisar Sarybayev, creative industries expert; Yerzhan Zhamenkeev, PhD, artistic director and member of the Khassak ensemble; Bekmukhanbet Bauyrzhan, Master of Arts, director of the production center "SNECC Entertainment", soloist of the "Turan" ethno-folklore ensemble, composer; Richard Meehan, composer, orchestrator; Benjamin Laker, Professor, Forbes magazine expert.
