For the first time in international practice, violin master classes will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
The participants of the master classes Temis Barrutia Alumine (Argentina), Marie-Sophie Baumgartner (Switzerland), James Warren (Ireland), Sayaka Nakajima (Japan), Vaigaile Dainaciute (Lithuania), Anastasia Pentina (Russia), Christa - Maria Stangorra (Germany), Yuliia Van (South Korea), Ivan Smirnov (Russia), Aleksandra Khmara (Ukraine), Duishenbayeva S., Karatayeva V., Shildebaev A., Rysbedi Zh., Oserbek A., Omar A. (Kazakhstan).
The aim of this project is to improve professional skills, information and practical assistance to teachers, students and pupils of music schools in Almaty.
During the week, master classes with professors from Switzerland, master classes accompanied by the Camerata Kazakhstan classical music ensemble, concerts by both professors themselves, and the best violinists participating in master classes will be held in the classrooms and halls of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy.

The Republican project "Best student", organized by the Association of legal entities in the form of the Association national movement «Bobek» with the support of the Congress of youth of Kazakhstan.

Gimarat Ernazar – the student of 1 course of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy on the piano department.
Creative activity of the student was started in 2006. During his activity, Ernazar became a multiple winner of national and international competitions, festivals and Olympiads:
•    2009 – winner of I degree 5–th international festival-contest “Artistic summer at the castle” Western Poland
•    2010 – winner of the I degree of the 44th Republican contest of young pianists of Almaty
•    2013 – winner of the II degree of the Dubai international festival competition
•    2013 – winner of the I degree of the 3rd Republican competition of pianists

In the framework of the international project " Music and Artistic Research Knowledge Network Eurasia CPEA-LT-2016/10082" MA students of 1 academic year by the specialty "Instrumental Performance" Tokmurziyeva Dinara and Mukhadiyev Gaukhar were sent to the University Bergen (Norway) for semester studies on academic mobility (07.01.- 20.05.2019)

On 7 December 2018 in the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory as part of the «Altyn Art» composer’s competition, was held a round table: "Composer - Performer - Listener: Trinity Today". In the first part of the Round Table were announced the winners of competition, in which took part more than 40 works from all Kazakhstan. This competition was held with the support of the «Art-Mirai» foundation, whose chairman and organizer is Assel Imae (graduate of the Conservatory). Highly professional jury of the composer’s competition headed by the Chairman of the Composers Union of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kydyrbek B.K. announced the results:
> 1. Azimbek Dzhambaev, Astana, “Variations – Variations composition” - I degree diploma and gift certificate to the tune of 150 000 tg.
> 2. Maxim Khlebov, Pavlodar, "Dance of Wanderers" composition - II degree diploma and gift certificate to the tune of 100 000 tg.
> 3. Karina Izmailova, Astana, “Allegro” composition - III degree diploma and gift certificate to the tune of 50 000 tg.
Radio “Classic” also identified its favorites of the “Altyn Art” competition, awarding the following nominees with special presents:
> 1.Lira Bekbolatova, “Fiorellin” composition;
> 2. Raushan Kali, "Fugato"composition.
The second part of the Round Table was conducted by moderators, one of the organizers of this event, doctoral students: Bekenova AS, Associate Professor of the Department of String Instruments and Berzhaprakov D. B., Lecturer of the Department of Musicology and Composition.
The round table was held in order to recognize the compositional art of Kazakhstan and to attract wide public attention to the work of composers.
At the Round table were highlighted and accentuated the following topics:
Composer-performer-listener: interaction in the conditions of modernity;
Creativity of Kazakhstani composers of the XXI century: new musical language;
Also in the Round Table took an active part the students and professors of conservatory The organizers and participants of the Round Table thank the leadership of the university for their support in carrying out this event.

November 22, 2018 in Almaty summed up the results of the annual republican competition for student scholarships of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For the excellent study, the 80 best students of Kazakhstan will receive a personal scholarship of the foundation every month during the year. Fellows were honored at the opening of the XII International Scientific Conference "Innovative development and relevance of science in modern Kazakhstan". The solemn presentation of student scholarships was held at the University "Turan".
Each of the fellows was able to present themselves, talk about their achievements and future goals, and also express gratitude to the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy for the comprehensive support of creative and scientific youth.

Students of universities and art colleges passed a serious competitive selection, before being awarded the high honor of the Fellow of the Foundation of the First President. Among the 80 best students in the country, 4 are students from the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. These are Ishmuhamedov Yersultan (Faculty of Music Education and Management), Baibosyn Aidos (Faculty of Instrumental Art), Amangeldy Aytolkyn (Faculty of Folk Music), and Abduahap Symbat (Faculty of Folk Music).

In total, almost 500 applications were submitted for the competition. Students presented more than 40 universities of Kazakhstan from different parts of the country: Astana, Almaty, Aktobe, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Shymkent, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Semey, Taraz, Uralsk, Turkestan, Karaganda. Contestants have not only good academic performance, but are also active in the scientific and creative life of their educational institution.

The leading were residents of the popular KVN group - “Sparta Nomad”, who are the first team from Kazakhstan - winners of the highest league of KVN.
For their high professionalism in the implementation of projects to support talented youth of the Republic of Kazakhstan and high-quality scientific events, the Council on Science at the Foundation represented by the Fund’s Senior Project Coordinator, Rosa Edigeeva, was noted. On behalf of the rector TARGU them. M.Kh. Dulati she was given a badge and a letter of thanks.

On 28th of November, in KNC after Kurmangazy conference hall, a great artistic meeting took a place with the Associate Professor of the Piano Department and composer and professor and the Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulzhan Uzenbayeva. Students from the 3rd grade of department of piano were involved in the event actively under guidance of the teacher and head of musicology and composition - Gazizova Liliya Shamilyevna.

On November 24 discussion meeting  on the new article of the President  “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe” took place at T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy with the participation of the heads of three leading creative universities of the country, Professor Ayman Mussakhojayeva, Honored Figure  of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Zhudebayev and Honored Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Askhat Mayemirov.

The Turkestan Collection of Songs and Instrumental Pieces, compiled by Richard Karutz (1905), saw the light in September of 2018 (AsylKitap publishing house).It includes the songs and instrumental pieces of Kazakhs, Tatars and Uzbeks, recorded by a famous German scholar at the beginning of the last century in the cities of Kazalinsk and Tashkent.
The records themselves and the fact of their finding are the special interest.It was believed that the first recordings of Turkic peoples’music, including Kazakhs, belong to the twenties years of the last century. It is known that in 1925, Kazakh songs performed by A. Kashaubaev sounded at the World Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris (EXPO). Records of R.Karutz were made earlier and refer to the beginning of the twentieth century.
In addition, some of the samples were notated and published in the Appendix to the German edition of R. Karutz’s book “Among the Kirghiz and Turkmen in Mangyshlak” (1910).Unfortunately, in the Russian translation of this book it was missing. A. Samarkin, Ass. Professor, PhD (in Art history), former vice-rector for scientific work of Kurmangazy Kazakh National conservatory found thisAppendix and first translated it into Russian. He published the Appendix as a separate brochure (2004), including “Notes on Kyrgyz [Kazakh] Musical Instruments” by E.Hornbostel, some fragments of songs and instrumental pieces recorded by R. Karutz, photos of a number of instruments, as well as comments.
Copies of the R.Karutz audio recordings were found by the employees of the Kazakhstani branch of the Interstate TV and Radio Company “MIR” (director A.Alimzhanov) in Pushkin House (St. Petersburg). But the originals were kept in the Berlin phonogram archive on wax cylinders.As a result of a lengthy correspondence with the leadership of the Berlin Phonogram Archive (now the Berlin Ethnological Museum), the copies of the audio recordings were brought to Kazakhstan.Serious and painstaking work on the future collection related to the search, restoration of poetic texts, the notation of songs and instrumental pieces began in September 2017. It was headed bySauleUtegaliyeva, a Professor of the Musicology and Composition Department of the KurmangazyKazakh National conservatory, Doctor of Arts. For cooperation, she attracted graduates of our conservatory. There are transcribers: T.Tokzhanov, an Ass. Prof. of the Dombra Department , A. Shnarov, a Dombra player from the Folk Ethnographic orchestra "OtrarSazy", a master student, as well as M. Medeubek, kobyz player,senior teacher of ZhurgenovKazakh National Academy of Arts, a doctoral student of KurmangazyKazakh National conservatory. All of the above musicians are laureates of national and international competitions.
S. Kireeva as an expert on the Tatar language took part in the restoration of poetic texts, especially Tatar.
Researchers from Kazakhstan (A. Berdibay, A. Sabyrova, Ph.D., Ass. Professors of Musicology and CompositionDepartment; doctoral student B. Babizhan), as well as neighboring countries(L.Sarvarova, G.Makarov, PhD., Ass. Professors of the Kazan ZhiganovState Conservatory, as well as E.Kayumova, Ph.D., Leading Officer of the Republican Centre for the Development of Traditional Culture, Tatarstan, Russia; Prof.. Dr. R. Abdullaev, K. Kurbanov, PhDetc., Uzbekistan) have provided invaluable assistance in the search for the nationality of the samples and their analysis.
As a result, the collection turned out to be extremely interesting. It is published in three languages (Kazakh, Russian and English) and consists of two parts. The first of them included the articles by RicardaKopal (representative of the Berlin phonogram archive), AskarAlimzhanov (project manager, director of the Kazakhstani branch of the Interstate TV and Radio Company “MIR”), as well as SauleUtegalieva (Chief editor, Professor, Doctor of Arts).The basis of the second part was actually notated songs and instrumental pieces.A total of 13 entries were recorded, including 6 Kazakh songs and kyuis, 5 Tatar songs and 2 Uzbek instrumental pieces.There are lyric, religious, erotic songs, wonderful Tatar takmaks, as well as dance pieces for Uzbek gidjak. Currently, most of them are not performed.
The content of the texts translated into Russian. We used so-called analytical notation in the recordings of Tatar songs. There is a conventional system of symbols.
It is very symbolic that the Turkestan collection of R. Karutz was first published in Kazakhstan. In our opinion, its appearance is an important event in the cultural and scientific life of the whole Central Asian region. Of course, not all samples recorded by R. Karutz reflect the specificity ofTurkestan region music. In addition, the technical equipment (wax cylinders), new to the beginning of the twentieth century, the age of records, did not always allow them to be made more qualitative. Nevertheless, the Turkestan collection of songs and instrumental pieces, compiled by R. Karutz, has historical significance. It is not only about the first recordings of music of Central Asian Turkic peoples. The scientist recorded those samples that were popular in this region in the early twentieth century.
The historical significance of the collection is seen in the fact that the materials collected here can be used in musical practice. They will contribute to the expansion of the repertoire of modern musicians.
I would like to congratulate the staff ofMusicology and Composition Department, first of all, Professor S. Utegalieva, as well as  Domba players, who participated in the work on musical transcription, with such an important publication and wish them new creative successes. It is necessary to express special appreciation and gratitude to the leadership of the TV and Radio complex "MIR" (Kazakhstan branch) for the initiative and unchanged (including material) supportfor this project. We hope that this music collection will serve as a starting point for searching and publishing other rare records.
