What is Fulbright?

Fulbright is a scholarship program that allows you to receive funding for graduate or postgraduate studies at universities in the United States. The program has been in operation since 1946 and is the largest of the scholarship programs in the field of education funded by the U.S. government.

The Fulbright program calls the strengthening of cultural and academic ties between citizens of the United States and other countries its goal. Currently, scholarships are provided to citizens of 155 countries, including students from Russia. The total number of participants in the program over the years of its operation is more than 300,000 people. The Russian Fulbright Alumni Association has more than 2,200 members.

What expenses are covered by the Fulbright Scholarship?

The program covers all expenses of the contestants, namely:

University education;

Transportation costs, including travel within the Russian Federation during the test and the interview;

The cost of obtaining a visa;

Medical insurance;

Living in the USA (a monthly scholarship is paid, the amount of which is calculated based on the subsistence level of a particular state).

Funding for the program is allocated for 1-3 academic years (depending on the program). The participants of the competition can choose a specialty only from the list open to citizens of the Russian Federation (the list is updated annually). The scholarship does not apply to MBA programs.

According to the terms of the program, after graduating from an American university, the participant of the program must return to his native country for a period of at least 2 years.
