Masterclasses by Rafael Yebra (Spain)
From April 15 to 18, 2025, masterclasses were held at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory by an international guest expert—saxophonist and professor at the Conservatorio Superior De Música De Vigo, Rafael Yebra (Spain).
Rafael Yebra is a Spanish classical saxophonist specializing in contemporary music performance. He began his professional studies at the Higher Conservatory of Music in A Coruña (Spain), and later studied in France under Jean-Marie Londeix. Currently, Rafael is a professor at the Conservatorio Superior De Música De Vigo.
On April 15, 17, and 18, 2025, R. Yebra visited Almaty privately and conducted masterclasses for saxophone students (educational program “Instrumental Performance”). Previously, he visited the Conservatory from March 13 to 15, 2023, as part of the Erasmus+ academic mobility program. During the recent masterclasses, the Professor focused on interpreting classical and contemporary repertoire and emphasized the importance of personal musical identity. Participants noted his technique, expressive saxophone playing, and the inspiring atmosphere.
